WELCOME BACK

Welcome  to Grade

August 20, 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our family at Norma Butler Bossard Elementary. I am looking forward to building a wonderful student and parent relationship that will blossom as the school year progresses. I hope to build effective communication with you by providing your child with a weekly Take Home Tuesday folder. This folder will contain documents that require your review and signature and should be returned to school the next day. In addition, our Parent Handbook is a great resource that you may utilize to familiarize yourself with important information regarding school wide procedures.

Attendance is an important component of your child’s academic success. It is vital that your child be present every day and on time. The school day begins promptly at 8:30 am.  In addition, Norma Butler Bossard Elementary is a mandatory uniform school; therefore, your child should wear his or her uniform each day.

This year, I will be providing your child with fundamental skills that will be essential to his/her academic success. These skills will require reinforcement in the classroom as well as at home. It is important to provide your child with a routine and quiet study area for completing home learning assignments.  Each student will be provided with a planner that will be used for copying home learning. Please review the planner and sign it each night to ensure completion of all assignments.  In addition, students will be given vocabulary words at the beginning of each week.  Please ensure to practice vocabulary words each night with your child as they will be tested at the end of each week.

I am looking forward to working diligently with your child and hope we can establish a strong support team and create a positive, nurturing learning environment that will enable your child to reach his or her full potential. If you have any questions pertaining to your child, please do not hesitate to email me at  lwebster@dadeschools.net .

                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                Mrs. Webster
